Circle The Atlantic: Flight To End Polio
Dec 02, 2025
Circle the Atlantic: Flight To End Polio, like its sister flight in 2023, titled, Around The World: Flight To End Polio, raised awareness and funds for the efforts of Rotary International (RI) and the Global Polio Eradication Initiative (GPEI). Circle The Atlantic: Flight To End Polio was piloted by Rotarians Peter Teahen and Ed Galkin, with technical support provided by Rotarian John Ockenfels. The flight was flown in a 1976 Cessna 210 single-engine airplane. The flight involved a 37-day, 9,000 nautical mile flight, with 15 landings in eleven countries, and multiple fundraisers. Galkin and Teahen accomplished three international aviation records on the flight. |

Give Next | Youth Grantmaking in Larimer County
Jan 13, 2026
Give Next is a school-based youth grantmaking program for middle and high school students in Larimer County. The year-long program challenges students to explore complex social issues, think critically about their role in creating change, and take action by investing in local nonprofits. Students experience the power of collaboration and the impact they can have on their community. Chris's presentation will include an overview of the program, the impact we’ve seen over the past thirteen years both in the classroom and in the community, insights into how the program evaluates goal achievement, highlights from last year, and updates on this year’s classrooms and their progress thus far.

Good for people and good for the land: How supporting local farmers can conserve land, grow food, an
Feb 03, 2026
Northern Colorado is one of the fastest growing regions in the United States, making local farmland some of the most endangered in the country. Each year we lose more than 2,400 acres of farmland as it is converted to residential and commercial development, and when we lose that land, we lose important wildlife habitat, rural jobs, and most importantly the farmers and ranchers that feed our community. Since 2016, Poudre Valley Community Farms (PVCF) has been dedicated to helping Northern Colorado farmers and ranchers grow local food by connecting them to land and water. PVCF manages 350 acres of land across Northern Colorado and has enabled 15 producers to grow food for the community. These folks employ farming practices that maximize water efficiency, improve soil health, and protect wildlife habitat, while growing nutritious food for neighbors and community members. |

Dear Rotaract Friends, Join us for our Club Meeting on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, from 4:00 to 5:00 PM in LSC 308-10 as we celebrate one full year of Rotaract@CSU. Since launching in February 2025, our club has grown four times in size and contributed over 500 volunteer hours, excluding Rotary meetings and guest events. We have completed over 10 service projects, supported more than 25 volunteer events, and helped raise over $7,000 that has gone directly back into our community through local partnerships and to support the CSU community, including Rams Against Hunger. This milestone belongs to all of you and we are so grateful for your support and appreciation! To celebrate, we are going back to where it all began with our very first project:folding paper cranes with messages of hope and peace. Agenda:
Snacks and refreshments will be provided. I hope to see everyone there as we celebrate together.! Best, Saira Hafeez |

The Unseen Niche: Birds & Airspaces Across North America
Mar 03, 2026
Earth's lower atmosphere is a vital ecological habitat, home to trillions of organisms that live, forage, and migrate through this space. Despite its importance, it is rarely treated as a primary habitat for ecological study or conservation prioritization, making it one of the least explored environments on the planet. Yet this aerial habitat functions as a global conduit for the movement of biomass, weather, and inorganic materials. Addressing fundamental ecological questions about its spatial and temporal dynamics is key to understanding its role in shaping ecosystems. |

Next Stop is Vietnam: The War on Record
Apr 14, 2026
Craig Werner and Doug Bradley place the iconic music of the 1960s and early 1970s at the heart of the U. S. experience in Vietnam. Their presentation explores why U.S. troops turned to music as a way of connecting to each other and the World back home, and how music has helped them cope with the complexities of an unpopular war that they had to fight. Their talk also demonstrates that music was important for every group of Vietnam veterans—black and white, Latino and Native American; men and women; officers and “grunts.” |

Front Range Passenger Rail: Moving from Planning to Public Readiness
Apr 21, 2026
Front Range Passenger Rail (FRPR) is a proposed inter-city passenger train service along the Front Range and broader I-25 corridors in Colorado and Wyoming. The selected route runs from Fort Collins, Loveland, Longmont, Boulder, Denver, South Metro (Littleton), Castle Rock, Colorado Springs to Pueblo. Proposals exist to extend the project northwards to Cheyenne in Wyoming and southwards to Trinidad and New Mexico. The Front Range Passenger Rail District is engaging community members along the corridor to share information, answer questions, and hear feedback from residents as the project advances. This outreach is part of the District’s statutory responsibility to conduct transparent public engagement before any potential future decisions are considered. |
