A Very Brief History of Manhattan Beach and Lakeside Amusement Park
Between 1895 and 1920 there were more almost 5,000 amusement parks built in the United States. Most major cities had one or two during that period, but Denver had five. Manhattan Beach was the second amusement park to open in Denver, just six weeks after Elitch Gardens opened in 1890. In 1908 Lakeside Amusement Park was the fifth of those amusement parks to open, and it would later become one of less than thirty American amusement parks to reach its 100th anniversary. This will be a very brief history of more than 100 years of Denver's amusement park history. |
