I'm not sure about you, but I'm still on a high from our presentation last week from Hunter Powell! I heard he had a great speech at CSU commencement also. Once again well-done JD! It's been a long time since I have seen one of our speakers lead to a standing ovation! No doubt one heck of a motivating message!
Unfortunately, this week you are stuck with me as your speaker as we will be having our Club Assembly. I'm looking forward to discussing the year as President. From my perspective it has gone by really fast and I can't believe I'm at the point where I'm supposed to provide a year in review. It's been a great year in this role, and I want to thank each and every one of for you helping to make it great! Kathe is also planning on speaking to highlight some of the key things she will be focusing on. With no meeting next week, this will most likely be Kathe's last meeting before she heads to Tawain for RI.
A couple of other things to highlight for tomorrow's meeting. First, we will have our Student of the Month Presentations from Lincoln Middle School. This will be the final Student of the Month presentation for this school year. Thanks Allison for all of your work putting this together. Also, we will be presenting a check to John HIntzmaan on behalf of Book Trust. I love the tradition that we make a donation on behalf of each of our speakers for Book Trust and it will be great to get an update from John about what Book Trust has done this year.
A few other reminders:
Please don't forget to register for District Conference. With us being the host club, we definitely want our club to have the most attendants.
Please register for our offsite on June 9th. Offsite at Avery's Teahouse in Loveland! | Rotary Club of Fort Collins (Foothills) We are going to have a presentation at Avery's Teahouse. I have arranged for the founder and the Executive Director to speak. Avery's Teahouse is in the Loveland Yards and is part of a non-profit called Avery's Light. The Teahouse provides inclusive employment opportunities for those experiencing developmental disabilities. We will have lunch served in a style similar to a tea party while learning more about their mission.
Please don't forget that there will not be a meeting next Tuesday as it is the day after Memorial Day.

Building Resilience from the Inside Out: How We Build Mental and Physical Fitness One Rep at a Time
In this presentation, Taylor will share how FYR Mindset Reps is addressing two critical populations in our community—teens and first responders—through a unique approach that combines mental health, physical fitness, and real-world life skills.
She will talk about the increasing mental health challenges facing today’s youth and the cumulative stress first responders carry from the job, and why traditional approaches alone are often not enough to create lasting change. She will explain how Mindset programs integrate mindset training, movement, and community to help individuals build resilience, confidence, and the ability to navigate stress in a healthy way.
Taylor will explain the impact they are seeing locally, how they are expanding access to underserved youth, and how programs like SHIFT provide first responders with structure, accountability, and practical tools to actually implement change in their lives.
