Hello Foothills Rotarians!

What an amazing Innovation Summit!   I'm not sure where to start!    First off, I want to thank everyone in our club who registered or helped out in any way.  It was a great event from start to finish!  Because I don't know where to start, I think I'm going to stick with bullet points:

  • Our own Carl Diershow was awarded the District's Rotarian of the Year!   This is well deserved and congratulations Carl!  We say it a lot, but I still don't think we say it enough. We are so appreciative of what you do for our Club and the District.   We couldn't do it without you!

  • Our club's own Larry Kendall gave an amazing presentation.  Larry, I think we could have listened to you all day!   This is the first time I have heard him speak and it was amazing.  Congratulations on your 43rd anniversary as a Rotarian your upcoming 80th birthday!  We are so glad you are a part of our club!

  • As always Clark Street Station put on an amazing show for the evening entertainment last night.  There is no doubt that you gained a new set of fans from around the District last night.  I had the chance to talk to several people who were new to your band and they were very impressed.

  • Mike, thank for you the support that Mountain Valley and Platte Valley Bank provided to help make the Innovation Summit a reality.  We are so glad you are in our club and so appreciative of the support of a great event!

  • I want to thank everyone in our club who had a role in putting this together especially those on the planning committee.   This was no small task, and it was a great success!  I hope all of you have a relaxing Sunday planned!

  • Finally, I want to thank Karen Morgan for being an amazing District Governor.!  We are so proud of you and everything that you have accomplished this year as DG.  We are so glad that you are a Foothills Rotarian!

Hopefully many of you are planning to make it on Tuesday to our Offsite where we can celebrate a great District Conference while learning about another great organization in our community.   The offsite will be at Avery's Teahouse which is in the Loveland Yards (Formally the Outlet Mall)  The address is 5685 McWhinney Blvd, Loveland, CO.   It is located very close to Citypoint Church and in the same are where the Children's Musuem is.     If you have any questions about where it is or the best way to get there, let me know.   We will have a great lunch provided which includes individual pots of tea, chicken salad sandwiches and a lot of great desserts.  This could be a great event to bring guest to.  We had to commit to a minimum of 30 people to reserve the room, so I'm expecting we should plenty of room for guest.  There is no additional charge to bring guest either.   The Teahouse and their sister organization Avery's Light provides opportunities for those with special needs to attain real world work experience.   Click here to register or just email me if you plan to attend.   Offsite at Avery's Teahouse in Loveland! | Rotary Club of Fort Collins (Foothills)

Also please be sure to register for the Changing of the Guard Party on June 30th. This will take the place of our regular meeting that day.   Wynn has been working hard to plan this event and it will be a great time.   This is also a great event to bring other members of your family to. Here is the link to register.   Sign up for Changing of the Guard! | Rotary Club of Fort Collins (Foothills)
