Happy National Ice Cream Day! Hopefully everyone got to partake in a cold treat on this hot day! Thanks so much for making my first meeting as President a good one! It was exciting to share with you the highlights of the RI Convention as well as my priorities for the year. I really appreciate everyone's support as I start my year as President! I'm looking forward to meeting with as many of you one on one in the next couple of months as possible.
I'm also really looking forward to the presentation on Tuesday. Andrew Mitchell of Colorado Gators will be our presenter. I have always been interested in this place but have never had an opportunity to visit. Thanks, JD, for getting this great presentation on the calendar! This could be a good presentation to bring a guest to.
On Thursday I participated in the Safe Serve Training and it was great to see so many Rotarians participating in the class. I think half of the class was Rotarians! It was good training to ensure we are doing a good job of keeping everyone safe when it comes to serving alcohol. Thanks to everyone who has volunteered for the Peach Festival so far. If you haven't had a chance to sign up yet, please do so. It looks like the biggest need currently is for the later shifts between 4:15 - 7:15. The link is below to sign up.
On Friday we had a great Rotary Golf outing for July at Indian Hills in Lafayette! This is such a fun event that is done from May to October. While I may not be a good golfer, it's a great time to get outside and spend some fun time with other Rotarians and other guest. If you are interested in joining this group please let Artie Bavoso know. All of the funds raised go towards our RYLA scholarships.
This last week was a great week that reminded of how much we do outside of our meetings on Tuesday!

Andrew Mitchell will explain the history and provide a tour of Colorado Gators, the only alligator farm in Colorado.
Colorado Gators, originally a tilapia farm, is now a major tourist destination in the San Louis valley. About twenty miles west of the Great Sand Dunes National Park, our rescue is home to over 300 alligators, caiman, and crocodile. They also take in snakes lizards, turtles and tortoises, as well as birds, well behaved or otherwise
