I couldn't pass up the opportunity to send one more bulletin as your President! First off, I want to thank everyone who attended the Changing of the Guard party, it was an amazing event! Thanks to Team Washle for putting together one heck of a party. I also want to thank everyone who helped in any way to put this event together. Having a setup and clean up team was great. Also thanks again to Joe Scherger for helping with the final clean up. This was much easier this year!
Congratulations again to Karen Morgan on being awarded our Rotarian of the Year! We are so proud of all that you have accomplished as District Governor and so proud to call you our own! I'm looking forward to seeing what great things you will accomplish next in your journey as a Rotarian!
With Kathe transitioning into her new role as President, I wanted to make sure that you were aware of a few things for July. We will not be having a meeting the 7th of July due to the 4th of July holiday. In addition, we will be meeting at Timberline Church on the 14th as the Marriott will be having a larger event. One thing I learned from my Presidency is that when there is something bigger going on at the Marriott, it always best to find an alternative location. That day Kathe will be sharing more about her experiences at RI in addition to key priorities she would like to focus on for the year.
The next Tuesday, July 21st we will be at the Marriott. On the 28th we will have an offsite but it will be very close as it will be at The Gallery. Our own Deedra Moats will be leading the presentation that day. They will be providing a delicious lunch as well as a tour of the facilities.
Please don't forget to sign up for our volunteer slots at the Peach Festival. As I'm sure you have heard me say before, this has become our biggest fundraiser for the club. Dave Hasse will be attending our July 14th meeting to fill us in on this year's event. The link is attached below: 2026 Peach Festival — Signup Sheet | SignUp.com
Finally, I want to thank everyone for your support this year! It has been an honor and a privilege to serve as your President. I have learned so much and I appreciate everyone's efforts in making this a great year for our club. It will be a surreal experience to sit down for lunch on the 14th! I hope everyone has a great and safe holiday and thanks again for a great year!
