Foothills Rotary Weekly Bulletin

I'm thrilled that we'll be able to welcome back some of our club alumni this week - thank you Deems for organizing this! And we have another fabulous program with Meg Dunn.

As we get into the holidays, remember that Food Bank needs frozen turkeys donated on November 16th - they weren't able to get a bulk donation this year so they're relying heavily on the community to fill the need.

We're also gearing up for our Holiday Baskets project on December 15-16. We got a grant from District and need to match it with our own funds to be able to feed 80+ families. Contribute via the black QR code, or give a check to Patty or Jan.

Announcements
Food Bank needs turkeys!
The Food Bank for Larimer County needs a whole bunch of frozen turkeys! They really need our help this year. Drop them off at Drake Center on November 16th. DETAILS
Donate to Holiday Meals

It's that time of year! We're looking to feed over 80 families this year, and inflation has had a big effect on the cost of food.

This year we're looking to raise at least $2460, to match the funding supplied by our District. You can join in by scanning this QR code, going to the Paypal link, or giving a check to Jan or Patty. Write "Holiday Meals" in the memo line.

Alumni Meeting - The Emma Malaby Grocery
Alumni Meeting - The Emma Malaby Grocery

Buildings are containers of history and the Emma Malaby Grocery is no exception. From its early life as a photography studio on N. College to its later role as a neighborhood grocery and woodyard on N. Meldrum, this unassuming little building holds a big story. The building’s first days were in a small frontier town that was just starting to make something of itself. Over time the town grow and the building moved over the tracks to a lower-income neighborhood that included our earliest African-American community and later became the Holy Family Neighborhood. A tragic murder-suicide changed the path of the grocery’s story. And then, during WWII, the grocery shut down and the building has been boarded up. Now owned by Historic Larimer County, it is about to begin a whole new chapter.
