Hello, I hope that you were able to find ways to stay cool, safe and healthy this weekend.  We are definitely into the July heat!

We have been working with the Marriott to determine how best to configure a meeting that could accommodate both in-person participants concurrently with a Zoom meeting for our members who can't and/or don't want to risk the potential of increased exposure to the corona virus. Unfortunately, with the Marriott's  staffing reductions at this time, they don't have on-site expertise to work with us to assure our equipment and bandwidth needs to do so. Due to this  "technology wrinkle" and the recent increase in the prevalence of the virus both in the state and our county we are going to continue our regular Zoom meetings through the month of August, with the exception of the Rotation Day bike ride/lunch on July 28.  We will have a separate Zoom rotation/education opportunity that day also.  Stay tuned for details.

Bring Hope in Times of Crisis by donating  to our campaign to support the child care and learning needs of our community's children.  Learn more by clicking HERE to learn about and donate to this great project.  We are off to a strong start, and have only $10,000 left to raise.  Please feel free to share the opportunity to support this project with your circles of influence.  Thank you for helping us achieve our goal.

SAVE THE DATE:  Club Rotation Day on July 28 - a bike ride for our bicyclists  and social distanced lunch at Howling Cow Cafe. Noosa Yogurt has reduced its tour schedule and we are unable to get a tour on Tuesdays.  For those who prefer to drive, join us for lunch around 11:30 am at the Howling Cow Cafe in Bellvue.  Click HERE for details and to register so we know how many lunches to reserve.  We are working on topics for Zoom participants as well.

Our speaker for our noon group meeting this week is John Cooke, Colorado State Senator to learn about SB20-217: the Enhance Law Enforcement Integrity bill that was just signed by the Governor.  New Zoom link effective July 7 is below.

Food for thought:   "Rotary isn’t just a club for people to join, but rather 'an invitation to endless opportunities'.  We believe that our acts of service, big and small, create opportunities for people who need our help.  Everything we do opens another opportunity for someone, somewhere." - Holger Knaack, Rotary International President, 2020-2021

Evening Group News

Our evening meetings are held every other Tuesday. Right now we're using Zoom to meet. Our next meeting is July 21, 2020 at 5 pm.   It's a good way for members to stay in touch and keep up-to-date on what's happening in the club.

Most volunteer activities with the Donor Trail, Putnam School and MorningStar Assisted Living are on hold, however we are currently working to identify some volunteer projects members can participatein.  We are organizing a work day with Habitat for Humanity.  More details to follow.

And if you're up for a bit of mid-day exercise, hop on your bike and head to Howling Cow Cafe for lunch on July 28.  Click HERE for details and to register so we know how many lunches to reserve.

Stay well,
Newt Wyler
Fort Collins Foothills Rotary, Evening Group Chairperson
