Foothills Rotary Bulletin

Friends,

Thank you to all who showed up for Win Schendel's memorial service.  There were approx 25 Rotarians in attendance.  It was a fitting tribute to a special man and Rotarian.

Also, a big thank you to Celeste Nigh for coordinating our lunch at Respite Care this last Tuesday.  I feel so proud of our Fort Collins community for supporting such a meaningful difference-making organization.  One of our members has agreed that if our club could raise $2,500 for Respite Care that he would match it with another $2,500.  Respite Care qualifies for the Colorado Child Care Credit....so if you want to take advantage click here and just write in the note section, "Foothills Rotary match".

David Dunne (Lisa's husband), President of the 1918 Club offered our Foothills Club three (3) positions in their 2025 Leadership Academy.  This is a great opportunity if you think a leadership role in our club is in your future.  Tomorrow is the Deadline to sign up!  Please reach out to David with questions: 210.857.7737.

Our speaker next Tuesday is Craig Johnson - From a town of 26 to New York Times Bestseller

Craig Johnson is the New York Times bestselling author of the Walt Longmire mystery novels, which are the basis for Longmire, the hit Netflix original drama. The books have won multiple awards: Le Prix du Polar Nouvel Observateur/Bibliobs, the Wyoming Historical Association’s Book of the Year, Le Prix 813, the Western Writers of America’s Spur Award, the Mountains & Plains Book of the Year, the SNCF Prix de Polar, Publishers Weekly Best Book of the Year, The Watson Award, Library Journal's Best Mystery of the Year, the Rocky, and the Will Rogers Award for Fiction.  Spirit of Steamboat was selected by the Wyoming State Library as the inaugural One Book Wyoming. Johnson lives in Ucross, Wyoming, population twenty-six.

If you plan on bringing a guest(s), please email or text me by Monday at noon, so I can make sure the Marriott has enough food, etc.

Rotary Anniversaries: Wynn Washle - 29 years

Look forward to seeing you at this Sunday's Purple Pins bowling.  It is alway good for a chuckle or two.

Thank you for everything you do to "Improve Lives".

In Gratitude,

Wynn
