Foothills Rotary Bulletin

Hello Foothills Rotarians,

Good Morning and Happy Monday!   First off, I want to wish Ruth and Frank Lutes a Happy 50th Anniversary!   I was curious to see what the longest marriage on record is and it is 88 years!  50 is a great accomplishment and everyone at the club wishes you and Frank all the best!

Last week was a great meeting with our Presentation from TACT and our RYLA / Young RYLA JC's and our Junior RYLA participant.  Heather made a great comment about how great it is when worlds intersect.  Having our boys both being JC's and presenting at our meeting was definitely special.  It's awesome to know the impact our club makes and there is nothing better to see that proof in front of us.  Thanks Brian for leading this effort.   I believe that RYLA is one of the best ways that we can bring youth into Rotary.   It was very inspiring to see how many are living Rotary's values at a young age.

I like many of you was very moved by the presentation from TACT.   It's great to have speakers like this who are representing organizations that are doing so much good in the world.  As a banker who works with customers who are in need of people that TACT train, I can tell you for certain that they are filling a great need out there!

Tomorrow is going to be a great offsite at the Children's Musuem of Northern Colorado.   If you haven't registered yet there is still room.  If it's easier to text or email me letting me know you're planning on attending that works also.   Lunch will be at Cracker Barrel which is in very close proximity to the museum.  We are suggesting to meet at the Cracker Barrell at 11 to allow enough time for lunch.

It's hard to believe but the Peach Festival is this Saturday!  Thanks so much to everyone who has volunteered from our club!   There are still some slots to be filled in the afternoon if you haven't signed up yet or are willing to stay longer.   This has become such a great event and is such a difference maker for our club to be able to support our charitable work.

Also right around the corner is our Duck Race.   I'm very much looking forward to this event.   This committee has done an amazing job and can't wait for this event.  Signups are available to volunteer and quack packs are for sale!

Finally I wanted to remind everyone of the great service project in Acuna, Mexico.  My son Alex and I are going to be able to join the fun.  I booked my flights yesterday and they were very affordable.   I have never had the opportunity to do an International Project and I'm excited that this opportunity came up which is easy from a cost and logistical standpoint.  It makes it even more special to be able to experience this with Alex.  There will be several people from the Downtown Club as well joining which will make it even more fun.  Hopefully some others can join us as well!
