Brothers in Arms Aboard the USS Arizona

 Author and historian Walt Borneman is no stranger to Foothills Rotary. His most recent book is BROTHERS DOWN: Pearl Harbor and the Fate of the Many Brothers Aboard the USS Arizona. Out of a crew of 1,500, there were 38 sets of brothers aboard the battleship that morning, including two from Colorado. Borneman has written about a one-term president, James K. Polk, the always-controversial Douglas MacArthur, and the only four men to achieve the five-star rank of Fleet Admiral. Nothing however, he says, prepared him for the raw emotion of the stories of these young men and their families.
