2022 Peach Sale for Literacy – Breakfast Club

The Breakfast Rotary Club in Fort Collins is selling peaches and other items to support  literacy projects for local third graders.  Third grade is a critical time in a student’s development.  At that stage, children transition from “learning to read” to “reading to learn”.

At the following link you can order any of the following:

-A 20 pound box of palisade peaches - If you think 20 pounds is too much , you probably haven’t tasted these yet 😊.  Nonetheless, if you don’t want a 20 pound box, don’t want to freeze, or you can’t find someone with whom to share, you can donate a box or a ½ box to the foodbank.

-Ginger and Baker Peach Pie

-Ginger and Baker Jalapeno Jam

-Or just make a donation to this worthy cause.

The peach pickup is Saturday, August 27th at the Twin Theater Drive In, Fort Collins.

Camp Greeley: WWII POWs in Colorado
Camp Greeley: WWII POWs in Colorado

Allied victories in Europe led to one of the most unusual wartime experiences for Americans on the home front: the presence of thousands of German and Italian prisoners of war interned across the United States. Colorado alone was home to dozens of POW camps, including Camp No. 202 outside of Greeley. This presentation will discuss the genesis of these camps, their wartime operation, and their closure after the war.
